A 1970s peacock swivel chair made from bent rattan and woven cane. Often referred to as an “Emmanuelle chair” after the 1974 film, this sculptural design features a tall looped backrest in the shape of stylised palm fronds, a caned circular seat, and a latticework pedestal base with concealed swivel mechanism. A playful example of postmodern tropical revival, echoing Southeast Asian craft traditions popularised in Europe during the mid-20th century.
